Hey friends!
I’ve been a busy bee teaching a voiceover class for Bway Star Project’s summer intensive this week and last! We’ve been working on scripts from animated shows, video games, radio & commercial spots, and podcasts. The icing on the cake… they’re leaving with professional VO demos that I’ve edited together for them! Here are some of my fab students ♥️

Next week, I’m visiting my good friend Corinne in Montreal :) It’ll be my first time there! Def let me know if you have recs - I’m only spending a few days there and want to make the most of it!
BUT RIGHT WHEN I GET BACK…
I’m playing a show at Arlene’s Grocery on July 29!
The last time I played Arlene’s Grocery was back in 2017. Played a killer set with some good friends……… to the smallllllllest audience ever. Sometimes that’s just how it goes. We’ve all been there :( But we just gotta pick ourselves up and keep going. Sooooo I’m back again. Let’s make this one a NIGHT TO REMEMBER!
I’ll be playing a set of originals on vibes & guitar! Doors open at 6:30pm and I go on at 7pm. Tix are only $10 in advance and $15 at the door. GET YOUR TIX HERE!
Feel free to stick around for Avangelia (NPR Top Shelf) at 8pm, Mia Jae at 9pm, and M!LES (American Idol) at 10pm!
If you’ve been to one of my shows, you know my dad is INSTRUMENTAL in helping me schlep my instruments/gear. But this time, Dad is with Mom in Bali! Thankfully, my bro Zach and his wife Jesse volunteered to jump in and be my roadies. So grateful for my #ZAMFAM! Of course, we will all miss Dad head-bopping in the front row 🙃
Here’s what I’ve been up to:
Last month, I had the amazing opportunity to work on the 29-hour equity reading of "Oy Band," a new musical written and composed by Bonnie Gleicher, directed by Sammi Cannold, music directed by Cynthia Meng, and produced by Mitchell Leib and Marnie Price. All amazing people who really care about what they do.
In a sentence, Oy Band is about “Four Orthodox Jewish girls who re-fashion themselves as a boy band so that they can perform beyond the restrictions of their community.” Read more about it here in Playbill!
From the moment I read Bonnie’s script and heard her amazing music, I felt a strong connection to the material, which only deepened over the week of rehearsals. I also got to work with three kind, talented, badass Jewish actresses who I quickly came to know and ADORE! Couldn’t be more honored to tell this moving (and fun!) story and can’t wait to see where it goes next. This is just the beginning for Oy Band!
Here’s some of us kvelling after the reading:

My path as an artist never will be, and never has been, straightforward. But I am trusting in this MOMENTUM and feeling gratitude for the kismet / synchronicity that keeps coming my way!
Hope to see you all at my show on July 29! TIX HERE! And here’s the Partiful event so you can let me know you’re coming :)
Xoxo,
Sofie
